The segment features an interview with Laura Diaz Brown, known to her
many fans as Chef LaLa, the chef whose healthy Latina sizzle ignites her
every endeavor. In the interview, LaLa reflects on her childhood, growing
up in the kitchen at home and in her parents' restaurants throughout Los
Angeles, and how she developed her love for food and cooking. Yet, her
abiding interest in health and medicine prompted LaLa to emphasize her
studies in those subjects.
Fortunately for her many fans, LaLa details how her passion for food
won out, transporting her to Paris and the famed Le Cordon Bleu to study
and refine her natural talent. Yet the focus on health has prevailed, as
Chef LaLa details her ongoing culinary explorations into healthy
preparation in the Latino Kitchen. And, pay attention, as the interview
will be intercut with shots of LaLa cooking up a batch of Mexican Tamales!
In addition to Chef LaLa, this segment of Vista L.A. will include
dynamic Latinas Carolina Herrera, Irene Carranza, Diana Bonta, Rigoberta
Menchu Tum, Maria Dorazo, Shakira, Sara Ramirez, Salma Hayek, Elizabeth
Vargas, and Dr. Ana Nogales. Each week, Vista L.A. introduces people in the
worlds of culture, business, politics, education, and entertainment who add
to the diversity of Los Angeles.
Chef LaLa is well-known for her radio and television appearances and
her "Latin Lover Lite" cookbook. For additional information on Chef LaLa,
