Following the successful exhibit California's Remarkable Women, presented May 2004, The California Museum for History, Women and the Arts is proud to unveil the next major exhibit in the Remarkable Women series, Latinas: The Spirit of California. The exhibit, developed by The California Museum for History, Women and the Arts in conjunction with a committee of respected Latina leaders from all fields of endeavors and across the state, will run from September 29, 2005 through 2008. Since California's establishment in 1850, Latinas have played a vital role in California's history. This exhibit honors these remarkable women who are community leaders and activists, politicians and entertainers, entrepreneurs and artists. >From Hollywood figures like Salma Hayek to activist icons like Dolores Huerta, from the 1800s to today, the exhibit presents the many faces of Latinas, including Chef LaLa, who have left an imprint on the California story.
