The International West Coast Seafood Show and All Asia Food Expo are co-located with Expo Comida Latina on October 9-10, 2005.
Hosted by Chef LaLa (Laura Diaz-Brown), an awarding winning chef, humanitarian and Hispanic spokesperson for the 5-A-Day program, American Diabetes Association and many other organizations. Chef LaLa is a frequent guest on many nationally televised shows and the author of Latin Lover Lite, the first-ever Authentic guide to cooking healthy Latin favorites.

Following the successful exhibit California's Remarkable Women, presented May 2004, The California Museum for History, Women and the Arts is proud to unveil the next major exhibit in the Remarkable Women series, Latinas: The Spirit of California. The exhibit, developed by The California Museum for History, Women and the Arts in conjunction with a committee of respected Latina leaders from all fields of endeavors and across the state, will run from September 29, 2005 through 2008.
Since California's establishment in 1850, Latinas have played a vital role in California's history. This exhibit honors these remarkable women who are community leaders and activists, politicians and entertainers, entrepreneurs and artists. >From Hollywood figures like Salma Hayek to activist icons like Dolores Huerta, from the 1800s to today, the exhibit presents the many faces of Latinas, including Chef LaLa, who have left an imprint on the California story.

DIABETES AND ME is being produced with the endorsement of the American Diabetes Association, the City of Hope Gonda Diabetes Center (a National Institute of Health-designated Islet Cell Resource Center), and Children with Diabetes.

The exhibit features over 150 Latinas who have called California their home over the years as well as many of today's influential California Latinas, including Ceja Vineyards President Amelia Moran Ceja, TV personality Chef LaLa, Hispanic Scholarship Fund President Sara Martinez Tucker, and the president of Bank of America's central Los Angeles market, Leticia Aguilar.
